Review of Nickel Boys: ‘A Success With a Unique Approach’

"Nickel Boys Flixtor" is filmmaker RaMell Ross's remarkably confident and ambitious debut fiction feature. POV shots make up the most of it. This has been attempted a few times in the history of cinema, most notably in the noir film "The Lady of the Lake" from the 1940s, but never as successfully or ingeniously as it is here. A single lengthy take of a talk at a pub years after the events portrayed in the majority of the film have occurred is one of the best scenes.
